🐾 Cozy Comforts, Hard Goodbyes, and a Steal of a Deal! 📚 Hello Readers, November has finally brought those crisp, cooler temperatures, and I couldn't be happier! Well, almost. The universe decided to test my patience (and my furnace!) with a dead blower motor in late October. After a week of waiting for the elusive part, we're finally toasty just in time for our first below-freezing night! ❤️ A Heart for the StraysWe're all set for the cold here, especially the neighborhood strays! I've prepped their safe spaces with plenty of straw and extra insulation. Because we absolutely love our outdoor friends, and they deserve a warm, dry spot tonight. 💔 The Ones We MissThis past month held some difficult goodbyes. We said farewell to a beloved cat of 18 years. Though the pain of loss is real, seeing his relief brought a different kind of peace. He now rests beside our sweet Nimue, both so very loved and deeply missed. And yes, I still hold hope that Christmas will find her way home. The door-incident still stings, but my heart holds out for a reunion. ✨ Good News on the HomefrontOn a brighter note, our vibrant orange tabby, Caterine, is thriving! She's officially adopted the dogs as her own and is a constant source of joy. And for our sweet boy, Daemon, we saw a significant win! He had only a single seizure this month, with a remarkably fast recovery thanks to his new medication. I am thrilled with his progress! 💡 A Note on SurvivalThe world outside can feel heavy right now. While I can't magically fix things, I can offer this reminder: Survival is resistance. If all you can do right now is hold steady, know that it is absolutely enough. 🎁 You Deserve a Treat! Hello October! October is my favorite month of the year, hands down. It is also the month of my birthday, hello 49. I am loving the age I am, growing older isn't something I thought I would get to do. Somehow, here we are. I am an author of a number of books and pursuing a Ph.D. This life is wild, especially when one considers that the world is on fire right now. Book news! I have caught up on my paperbacks. Olivia's Prison, Olivia's Flight, A Dream of Blood, and A Dream of Wolves are all...
Fall is right on time for me and my Daemon. Cooler weather and the smell of cooler mornings to come. Love. Last Tuesday was rough for us, though more for him. He had four seizures within about 45 minutes. And then a stay at the 24 hour emergency vet. Three thousand dollars later he came home with an additional prescription and a fancy new emergency medication. I really fucking hope I never have to use that medication. Daemon is out of the hospital and doing well so far. Fingers crossed he has...
Hello! How are you? Has the world been decent to you? I know it isn't for a lot of people right now. If you are one, virtual hugs if you want them. Beyond that, you have my sympathy which isn't worth a lot, but if you have no one to talk to (or even if you do) you are welcome to hit reply and tell me about it. I have been trying to go with the flow as best I can. July was a two seizure month for my Daemon. It sucked. His next appointment with his vet is Tuesday. They'll be taking his blood to...
