March, already? The Kindle Unlimited author world is in an uproar over the idea of the amazon boycott. They are worried about losing their livelihoods and that is reasonable. However, I think they are handling it the wrong way. I realize this is my opinion and everyone is free to handle their career however they like. But it's my newsletter and this is heavy on my mind right now. In my opinion, this is the perfect time for those authors to start diversifying. As their books come to the end of a 3-month lock in with KU, they start withdrawing them from KU and publishing elsewhere as well and keeping their readers informed. Even go for a hybrid model. There isn't a way to please everyone, obviously. But this could help them to keep their career. Personally, Amazon isn't my biggest seller. It doesn't worry me a bit if my readers don't want to read there, they can find me everywhere else. More importantly, if they are concerned about not owning the files, they can buy them directly from me. Then they own a file. It doesn't give them rights to distribute the file, but it does give them a file that they can keep forever and ever with no corporation able to yank it away from them. Plus, I give a 25% discount on my website, so it costs less there too. Now, on to happier things! A homeless single mother is on a collision course with destiny.Prequel to the Silver Sisters paranormal womens fiction series. Laney is at the end of her rope. Homeless with three young girls in the mountains of North Carolina, all she wants is to keep her family together. But no one will give her and her girls a chance. Not until the mysterious Jess covers for her with the local sheriff. But there's more to Jess than meets the eye. The woman lives in a haunted cottage and dabbles in horticulture and talks about magic like it's real, not just a story to entertain children. And then there's the mysterious ghost who only Laney and her middle daughter can see. Has this displaced woman found a home? Or will the odd circumstances cost Laney her girls and perhaps her life? Witch Way or the Highway is the prequel story to the Silver Sisters midlife magic series. If you like heroines over forty, stories of sisterhood, and forever love, then you don't want to miss Jennifer L. Hart's fantastic tale. Get Witch Way or the Highway and conjure your coven now! The book is amazing and I read it so fast, love it. For anyone following the chronicles of Daemon and his epilepsy, so far no more seizures. I don't expect it will always be that way but for now, he is seizure free for a solid month. I am so happy about it, as is he. No one likes a violent factory reset. He is fully aware that I am putting pills in his cheese and I get the impression that he has an idea what the pills are for. He is also eating MCT oil as part of his diet, vet approved as it is thought to be anti-seizure in dogs based on some studies and won't hurt him if it isn't. Rhiannon |
My Daemon is 39 days seizure free. This is the longest he has gone without a seizure since Christmas last year. I feel a little like an OSHA incident calendar, but I am counting every day since the last seizure. I know there will be breakthrough seizures. They are unavoidable. But we can stretch out the time between as far as possible and I am grateful for each day that he has without a seizure. As you can see, he is 100% velcro puppy. On to the books. I have finished, and had edited, Coyote...
Hello! Three sections for this email, so scroll to the parts you prefer. First is the author and her dog updates. Then the coming book release and last but not least, this month's free book. Last month I mentioned a secret-ish thing I was working on that I would talk about when it became a little more concrete. Well, it's concrete. I've been accepted to the Pacifica Graduate Institute Psychology, Religion, and Consciousness MA/Ph.D program. I am beyond thrilled to be going after my second...
Hello! This year is just rocketing by, how is it nearly mid-April already? Author life update I am working on a sort of secret thing, and that thing will likely cause my writing to happen ever more frequently, so that is a good thing in my book. I'll talk more about that once things are a bit more concrete. At that point you'll hear all about it. In the meantime, the garden is exploding with growth. We are nearly out of the pollening. This year it was brutal. Stepping outside to walk the dogs...
