Vampires, sun gods, and elves; what?

Welcome to February...

New readers, hello and welcome! The world is on fire right now and whether you are a long time subscriber or brand new, I hope my books give you a respite from the blaze.

My February started with my dog Daemon having a third seizure in less than three months. For those that are not familiar with what that means, it is one of the criteria for diagnosing epilepsy in dogs. His vet came by and drew blood to get his labs going and have a baseline for him as well as make sure that it wasn't an organ doing weird things and causing the seizures. It was not. My doggo has epilepsy

and we are now adjusting to new things.

FYI, if you are ever around a dog having a seizure, give them space. They are having a factory reset via an electrical storm in their brain and it leaves them confused and reasonably afraid. So give them space when they come out of the seizure, let them come to you when they are ready, some dogs will be aggressive for a time after (in the postictal period).

For those of you that haven't seen my Daemon, here he is:

Now, on to other things, like books.

All the news here. A Dream of Wolves will release at the end of this month. That is book two in the Warriors of the Old Gods series. And next month, Wolf Goddess releases. That is part of the Her Violent Silence series, in the feminist revenge horror genre.

However, if you need something light and fun, have I got the recommend for you!

That's all for now, I hope February and the world are kind to you and that we can keep up the fight, all of us.

My Daemon is 39 days seizure free. This is the longest he has gone without a seizure since Christmas last year. I feel a little like an OSHA incident calendar, but I am counting every day since the last seizure. I know there will be breakthrough seizures. They are unavoidable. But we can stretch out the time between as far as possible and I am grateful for each day that he has without a seizure. As you can see, he is 100% velcro puppy. On to the books. I have finished, and had edited, Coyote...

Hello! Three sections for this email, so scroll to the parts you prefer. First is the author and her dog updates. Then the coming book release and last but not least, this month's free book. Last month I mentioned a secret-ish thing I was working on that I would talk about when it became a little more concrete. Well, it's concrete. I've been accepted to the Pacifica Graduate Institute Psychology, Religion, and Consciousness MA/Ph.D program. I am beyond thrilled to be going after my second...

Hello! This year is just rocketing by, how is it nearly mid-April already? Author life update I am working on a sort of secret thing, and that thing will likely cause my writing to happen ever more frequently, so that is a good thing in my book. I'll talk more about that once things are a bit more concrete. At that point you'll hear all about it. In the meantime, the garden is exploding with growth. We are nearly out of the pollening. This year it was brutal. Stepping outside to walk the dogs...
